Long awaited and NOW it is here: The new GIN Boomerang GTO!

The GIN Boomerang GTO is the highest performing glider ever certified. We have the Boomerang GTO size M available for demos now, size S next weekend. Reuben flew a GTO proto at the Rotorua Nationals and showed us how well that went. He now has got the final version, which is even a lot more stunning: Fascinating details, but a light, simplified, high tech design - and a stunning look.

To Reuben's surprise, the GTO seems to carve and turn even better than the BoomSport - even though that has been out-standing in it class already. It climbs extremely well in light air, which is somewhat surprising considering it is a small high performance canopy flown with high wing loading. It is extremely easy to centre in thermals as the pilot is totally clear on where the core of the thermal is. On glide - well, there is nothing in the class to outfly it and most comp gliders don't either. It makes Reuben smile as he glides away from every ones else to find that thermal which is a little too far away for the mortals. Some rough air along the Paeroas on a cross wind was easy to handle.

The GTO features a new light weight batten system, both in the leading edge and the trailing edge.

The predecessor, the Boomerang Sport has been the benchmark in its class for a very long time - constantly referred to in tests of other gliders - and is still super competitive in the 2-3 market. Many of the them were in the top ranking of the NZ Nationals 2010, several years after its release. More importantly: While the performance has been obvious, those pilots who own one had the pleasure of enjoying every minute of having full control of their glider, feeling safe at any stage of their journeys, carving through rough air and using their speed bar in very thermic conditions with confidence to outrun others.

The first GTO shipments to Europe have been sold before they got there, the response on the forums is fantastic. Who is surprised? When Gin says he is going to make the new benchmark glider for any one class, he delivers just that. No more, no less, all in his very low key way to do it. GIN pilots know that. The GTO triggers such great response despite or especially because of a hype for new technology - which remains un-available and has not really made it pased the initial marketing hype / prototype stage before being scrapped. Test fly a GTO, fly well, enjoy a well finished product with the best certified performance ever instead, be ready when big spring thermals offer exciting flying conditions!

Especially if you are stepping up from a LTF 2 or EN C glider, now is a good time to do so: Get used to a different handling and piloting while the conditions are smooth. You don't want to be learning to fly a new glider in spring conditions or mid summer when you should be confidently clocking up big distances on your XC flights!
