The perfect paramotor wing for NZ

Evan, Reuben and I have long been explaining to people that a thorough-bread paramotor wing actually does feel A LOT better on a motor, than a PG wing. Now, that we all do a lot more paramotoring, lots of training and teaching, we have got quite a few GIN Airflex wings and a couple of other PPG wings. What a difference! How much more fun it is to fly on the Airflex than any other PPG glider. For use in NZ, the speed is particularly important as we tend to struggle with high wind. On our recent PPG meeting, we could compare to the other new PPG wings and found that the GIN Airflex offers noticeably better speed than the other new PPG wings.

So, if you are ready for an up-grade from a slowish PG, from a wing which pitches back during your climb or turns a bit sluggish, especially under power: Talk to Evan, Reuben or one of the other pilots about the Airflex!!

The intermediate paramotor wing by GIN

Full Reflex wing technology from the master of Reflex wing design. The Airflex has incredible stability, handling & launching characteristics coupled with a wide speed range. Paramotoring will never feel the same again once you have tasted the Airflex!

AIRFLEX is the GIN high intermediate paramotor wing designed by Mike Campbell-Jones, the inventor of the Reflex technology and father of modern paramotoring. AIRFLEX is based on a Reflex profile but has an amazing inflation and easy loading for takeoff compared to the wings made with the same profile type. This is due to a new generation of light leading edge, to an optimum placement of the attachment points, and to an original line cascade which utilizes the complete efficiency of the profile. AIRFLEX performs better and flies faster than other wings in this intermediate category.

The secret? Mike has used 2 profiles in the wing with different angles of attack across the wingspan. The original planform shape decreases the drag. It is very easy to manage the angle and radius of the turn with dynamic and precise handling – the trademark of GIN gliders. AIRFLEX has a dynamic roll but without excess. It is very stable in pitch, which helps to coordinate the turn with a paramotor and allowstight turns or wide turns with a good sink rate.

The arc has been calculated to help to initiate the turn with roll, but at the same time keeping a strict directional stability and avoiding any bad rolling tendency. This is a very important characteristic in PPG, and helps to control the spiral dive. The wing is very stable in all axes, especially at full speed. The sink rate is excellent at both slow and fast speeds, which allows a wide useable speed range. The risers include a wing tip steering kit to pilot the wing when accelerated. The "trimmers off" maximum position is 20cm and the speed system range is 16cm.
