For the next while, we will be operating Wings & Waves from Eva's house at 26 Beresford Street, Bayswater.

The double garage and the loft space above will be set up for office, service and sales. In the new years, we will be moving to new and very exciting premises. Watch this space!!

We have just published a Wings & Waves Facebook page! 2011, here we come. I am new to this concept, but apparently it is essential that you visit the page and click "like" on the main page. Only once a certain number of people have done that, the page will get its official username.

Join us at the loft this Saturday for some drinks, hot food, music and a chat. After some spells of bad weather and missing out on the annual club event at the Paeroas, it must be high time to get together.

Zulu3 KiteMag test

Here is a great test report on the Zulu 3.

I hate admitting it, but it seems we are at the end of the summer which is when we usually run our photo competition.

Last year we had fantastic entries, each showing different aspects of what people like about their sport. I loved the diversity of the different pictures. Have a look at the 2010 PG and kiting winners.

With lots of people owning GoPros and other in-flight cameras now and getting rather proficient with video editing software, we are extending this competition to video clips.

Reuben and I are back from the Nationals and working and teaching again full time. The weather at the nationals was marginal with only 2 days flying in the week. We will post a report very soon. As a pre-view: our Gin pilot Grant Middendorf in new NZ Champ, Wings & Waves' Eva is ladies' champ again with an all time record placing in the men's competition. More soon.

Here is a great chance to test, kite, enjoy 2011 kite surfing equipment! On Sunday 14th November from 11am, Wings & Waves is organising a day to test the full range of 2011 Underground kiteboards. Adrian from Underground will be here to give us all the chance to learn a bit more about boards, their different characteristics, shapes, styles, materials and how they influence your kiting.

Spring is pretty much here and we have started to teach quite a bit again after what seemed an endless winter. The team at Wings & Waves wants to catch up with mates, kiters and pilots who we have not seen nearly enough during winter.

We have a clear winner and a lots of close 2nds and 3rds. There was a wide spread after the first one which shows how everyone likes different aspects of the sport - and that we had quite a few great photos in the competition.

I bet you all have some stunning pictures! That is why I suggest a Photo Competition for kitesurfing and for paragliding.

Gin Zulu II - wasabi

The Gin Zulu II kite has been released in Europe. The first test report by the "Kitesurf Mag", UK, is out.

Great feedback - not that we are surprised because we have been using and teaching with the Zulu II for a little while and are sure that this is the most versatile and best quality kite we have ever used.
