France 2026
The area around Annecy is one of my favourite places ever. I have flown there for decades, every Euro summer and know the area and the local operators, schools, tandem pilots and manufacturers well. Of course, I have also put myself through diligently testing most restaurants, bars, swimming spots etc to enhance your experience.

The area offers such a wealth and variety of flying sites from the very famous Col de la Forlcaz and Planfait, to Chamonix, St Hillaire and less known and less crowded sites. Most sites offer nice and easy launch and landing options, if you are not all that experienced yet, but also huge XC potential for the more experienced pilots. Some sites are vehicle access, some have chair lifts or gondolas, some hiking.

Within an hour are at least 10 great take offs. If willing to drive a little further, the numbers go up exponentially.

It is all so very very beautiful!! You will see.
We have possibly 1 spot for the tour 4-11 July.
We have 2 spots for 18-24 July XC flying.
Book asap, so we can confirm and get all sorted.

Dolomites, Italy / Austria 2026
My kids and I have flown in the Dolomites in the past. It's absolutely stunning! During mid summer, the thermals tend to be a bit wilder than the average recreational pilot enjoys. September is the best time to fly there.

This year, I am flying in the area with local pilots. That gives me the opportunity to feel current about the local conditions and sites.

The Dolomites are also close to the Austrian border and to the Northern Italian sites, so that there are plenty of options to fly.

This one is going to be a travel / camping trip. I have a van to stay in. Or book the local hotel if you prefer.

our guidance – instructor team
Depending on the size of the group, I run the trips by myself or with another pilot or instructor. The maximum number for a trip is usually 7. Europe usually offers 9 seaters which offers good luggage space for gliders. With 2 instructors / drivers, 7 is the magic number.
The trips are guided, but do not offer the same level of supervision as for instance our PG2 course trips away. Pilots are required to hold a valid PG2 rating or equivalent and be able to launch, fly and land safely without direct assistance.

We offer comprehensive site and weather briefings and suggestions for flight plans, but don't supervise the entire flight.

This year, Grey Hamilton is joining me again for the first trip, so you are sure to enjoy plenty of experienced assistance.
